Does anyone have the email IDS of all these consulates in the USA?
This way I could send emails to all of them one shot, rather than going to their website and sending it one at a time.
Then, I could forward these emails to their DC HQ showing the difference in their opinion among their consulates.

I saw the following article on the yahoo news. From what I can gather, it appears that there is a strong desire in the republican leadership to come up with some kind of legislation before the election to strengthen the border security but not deal with the 12 million undocumented folks. Both house and senate leaders are kind of agreeing to strengthen the border first and get it done before the election.
I believe this might be a good chance for us (legals) to insert our goals if there is a border security legislation because there isn't that much opposition to the cause of legal folks. Do you guys agree? In fact, I am kind of glad that republican leadership is abandoning the CIR and trying to come up with a border security legislation first. This might be a great opportunity for us to get something done. Here is the article:
http://go.reuters.com/newsArticle.jhtml?type=politicsNews&storyID=13407898&src=rss/ElectionCoverage
WASHINGTON -- U.S. congressional leaders are giving up on broad immigration legislation that would legalize millions of illegal immigrants and instead will concentrate on border security ahead of the elections, Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist said today.
"I think it would be next to impossible to pass a comprehensive bill that includes dealing with the diversity of 12 million people here in the next three weeks," the Tennessee Republican told reporters.
President Bush backs comprehensive immigration legislation along the lines passed by the U.S. Senate. That bill would have created a guest worker program and put millions of illegal immigrants on a path toward U.S. citizenship.
But the Senate bill faced stiff opposition in the House from a number of Republicans who preferred the House bill, which focused on border security and work place enforcement.
House Republicans held a series of hearings over the summer to highlight their concerns with the Senate bill. House leaders plan to meet Thursday to discuss how to push border security legislation through Congress before lawmakers break at the end of the month to campaign for Nov. 7 congressional elections.
"Congress will put legislation on the president's desk this fall that will strengthen our borders," House Majority Leader John Boehner, an Ohio Republican, told reporters on Tuesday.
Frist's comments drew an angry response from Sen. Edward Kennedy, a Massachusetts Democrat who helped write the Senate bill.
"How can Republicans say they are for making America safer when they can't even pass a comprehensive immigration reform bill to protect our borders?" he said in a statement. "They are so divided over immigration that it will take leadership from the president to break the impasse."
Frist said he was discussing with House Speaker Dennis Hastert, an Illinois Republican, how to proceed.
"I would think we need to have border security and strong border security first," he said. "I would couple with that work site enforcement, if at all possible."
At a minimum lawmakers will address the issue ahead of Nov. 7, by increasing spending on border agents, fencing and other measures aimed at stemming the flow of illegal immigrants, congressional aides said.
But proponents of comprehensive legislation say sooner or later Congress will have to address the 12 million illegal immigrants living in the country.
"There are some very powerful players who still want it to happen," said Tamar Jacoby, an immigration analyst at the conservative Manhattan Institute for Policy Research.

There might be a possibility of a R &D Tax Credit Bill during Lame Duck session.

The only agreement seems to be that any trade measure would be wrapped up in a tax bill that would include tax breaks for student loans and an R&D tax credit.

Also, an excellent NYT article on the state of schools in India ("Indias schools have sunk to spectacularly low levels..."):

Looks like the Indian government is taking action on this front.
11th five year plan will be India's education plan (http://www.freshnews.in/11th-five-year-plan-will-be-indias-education-plan-pm-19825)
The actual outlays have been raised five-fold. This is an unprecedented increase in allocation for education in the history of our country, he said.

Oil prices have been "shooting through the roof" (due to shortage?). Do you like it?
Also, as a result, grocery prices, amongst many other commodities, have been "shooting through the roof". Do you like it?
Prices of commodities will also "shoot through the roof" if salaries of commodity workers "shoot through the roof". Do you want their salaries to "shoot through the roof"?
you have been shooting thru the roof so many things that first the roof, then your green card, more salary and what else may fall just over your head thru the hole. Wear a helmet first if you can ;-)

Super Point! I totally agree!
Come to think....What needs to be challenged in the court is not this but the income tax collection by MI...In that one needs to bring this interpretation of AG and show the court that if AG does not consider us residents then he can not collect taxes from us either. In one shot AG will change his interpretation which can then be applied to Automotive license issue. I think its about time IV take this fight to courts.... Peaceful demonstrations have its place and I believe in Gandhigiri too, but until and unless we strike where it hurt the most (money) nobody is going to give a rat's a** about us. As someone mentioned that host of other states are moving to implement similar restrictions, time to stop this is now....If we loose this battle then it will create echo all over the country

One of my friends laughed when I asked her about joining the rally. And then she said...."what the heck; I'll do it". Hopefully she will show up.

This is a scary memo. I am currently in pending I-485 status working on EAD and AP. My H1B has expired and I am working on EAD. Am I out of status and in trouble now because of this new memo??? I know there will be lots of people like me who started working on EAD with pending AOS.
Hope to hear your expert opinion on this matter.
Thanks in advance.

I see 12 full pages in less than two days with over 160 posts. Can somebody please explain in two or three simple sentances about whats going on and what is all this about?
I have done all the readings about border fence act, SKIL bill, S2611. But I still can figure out whats going on here in this thread.
Thanks guys
pls read
http://immigrationvoice.org/forum/showthread.php?t=1777
to know what this is about. : "slight glimmer of hope that some of our provision may get included in some bill." In order to achieve that we need lot of support and funding to make things happen in DC. This is the plan before the year ends.

Is this not something we should bring to USCIS attention???
Once the AC21 is used, the beneficiary should not be burdened for keeping the I140 approved.
USCIS is not rejecting I-140, they are asking for the same documents what they normally ask..they want to get something confirmed..if they think few issues are not clear...then don't you think..the case should be reopened.?? Just my thoughts..

I think you took his post out of context. optimystic is right to some extent.
Take my case, for both my parents and to my wife’s mom, our child was the first grand child. We did not want them to miss the moment. We got them here, not for baby sitting, not for child care… They went back without the regrets of not being able to see the new born and with wonderful memories they can cherish for the rest of their lives. It would have been easy for me to hire a nanny here than to sponsor three people’s visit, but I am glad I did. IO’s should understand this.
I do not approve of bringing a maid from India to take care of kids, as red-dog said there are day cares, nannies and good church schools here for that
I am agreeing with your reasoning on why you brought your parents and in-laws. For me it is easy to understand your reasons given that I am also from India and familiar with the relationship culture.
I am not agreeing with your statement "IOs should understand that". Parents/Inlaws need to understand the reality and adjust their answers to be politically correct that would get the job done. The IO is not going to say " Wow that's so nice. You have a very good family bonding." and give them the Visa. He will reject them. I am not saying he is right. But that is the reality.

I think there is no way USCIS will approve case from Aug Bulletin now itself.
